The Association of Agriculture and Food Ethics (TARGET) was established on March 30, 2016 and is the first and still the only non-governmental organization in this field in Turkey. The first of TARGET International Agriculture and Food Ethics Congresses, which is organized every two years in line with the decision made by the authorized boards during the establishment process, was held on 10-11 March 2017 at Ankara University Faculty of Agriculture. The 2nd TARGET International Congress on Agriculture and Food Ethics was held on October 24-25, 2019 at Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Ahmet Adnan Saygun Art Center.
Both International Congresses were organized with two full days and parallel sessions in two separate halls, and were successfully completed with oral and poster presentations presented by a large and qualified local and foreign participants and an audience of more than 250. "Full text proceedings books" of our congresses were also published.
Although we were concerned about the feasibility of the third Congress due to the fact that the date of the third Congress coincided with 2021, when the Covid-19 pandemic continued to a large extent in the world and in our country, the Congress Calendar was not changed with the confidence provided by the successes achieved in the first two congresses and the close international friendships and cooperation established in this process. TARGET 3rd International Congress on Agriculture and Food Ethics was organized online on November 5-6, 2021. This online international congress was held in two full days and in two parallel environments, a very intense number of speakers and participants were reached and the Congress Book was printed at the appropriate time.
The year is 2023, the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Republic of Turkey. It is a very special year in which we will hold fast to the principles and revolutions of the Great Leader Atatürk and the values of our Republic, work harder than ever for the bright future of our nation, and celebrate with enthusiasm and happiness.
In this blessed year, we will hold the TARGET 4th International Congress on Agriculture and Food Ethics on November 16-17, 2023 in Ankara, the capital of our Republic, at Ankara University Faculty of Agriculture.
In this Congress, we aim to cover all the value issues of the agriculture and food system on the basis of a multidisciplinary approach. However, in line with the lessons that need to be learned from the narrow and difficult times we live in, we have determined a special subject area for the first time in this Congress. The special subject area of our 4th International Congress will be "Disaster Resilient Agriculture and Food System".
For the well-being of human, society and nature; it is clearly seen that we need a fair, solidarity, inclusive, respectful to labor, nature-friendly agriculture and food system that has science and ethical values together on its main axis. In this context, we invite everyone who thinks and thinks about the value issues of the agriculture and food system to participate in the 4th International Congress on Agriculture and Food Ethics.
